Adult & Youth Volunteers

Volunteers are very special people at the Orlando Science Center. As the “face of the science center” volunteers help guide, teach and enlighten museum guests. Our volunteers range in age from 13 to 90 and bring with them their life experience, passion for science and enthusiasm for volunteering.

Internships & Employment

The Orlando Science Center has many interesting opportunities for individuals to gain experience in their field(s) of interest. Visit the internship section of our website to learn more about the current internships available.

Frequently Asked Questions

When can a youth become a volunteer at the Science Center?

We have volunteer opportunities for youth age 13 and older.

How does the application process work?

To be considered for our youth volunteer program, the youth volunteer coordinator must first receive the following:

  1. A volunteer application.
  2. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, music instructor, religious leader, etc.
  3. A copy of the applicant’s most recent report card showing a GPA of at least 2.5. (If you do not receive report cards or if you do not have a GPA of at least 2.5, we will accept a second letter of recommendation.)

After receiving the volunteer application and supplemental materials, the youth volunteer coordinator will contact the volunteer to discuss interests and provide information on any upcoming group interviews.
