In-Classroom Workshops

Let our trained Instructors bring science to life right in your individual classroom. Our classroom workshops are a great way to enhance your science curricula and motivate your students. With hands-on activities and entertaining instruction, students are challenged by experiments, exploration and science relevant to their daily lives.

In-classroom Workshops:

  • Focus on specific science themes and concepts
  • Introduce scientific and mathematic processes, concepts, and themes utilizing a fun, hands-on approach
  • Develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Present experiments and demonstrations that supplement formal science curriculum
  • All activities are aligned with the Florida Sunshine State Standards set in each subject area

 

Family Science Nights

Physical Science, Astronomy, Math, and Human or Animal Gross-Out

Students, parents, teachers, everyone is invited to this exciting opportunity to make learning a school wide event. Family Science Nights offer schools an opportunity to host an evening of science interaction! Students and families will be able to explore together as everyone enjoys the various hands-on activities brought out with each experience.

All of the activities are aligned with the Florida Sunshine State Standards set forth by the Florida Department of Education (DOE) in each subject area. Family Science Nights are available year-round and may be utilized as fundraisers, PTA programs or community events.

Family Science Night Programs:

  • Encourage cooperative learning among students, parents, and teachers
  • All activities are aligned with the Florida Sunshine State Standards set in each subject area
  • Introduce scientific and mathematic processes, concepts, and themes with a fun, hands-on approach
  • Develop communication and problem-solving skills
  • Present experiments and demonstrations that supplement formal school science curriculum
  • Provide activity ideas that can be repeated at home for further discovery
  • Reinforce the idea that everyone can be a scientist

 

Science Festivals

Can’t get enough great science? Bring the Orlando Science Center to your school for a Science Festival. Let our trained Educators provide all-day off-site programming that will leave your students wanting more science and experiences they will never forget.

During this festival, your students will engage in a Kaboom! Auditorium Show; a number of Digital Planet presentations in your school’s Media Center; in-classroom workshops with a potential focus in the areas of Life Science, Physical Science, Astronomy, or Earth Science; and a Family Science Night of your choice. By the end of the day, your students will exude more academic confidence and view science as the key to understanding the world around them.

Kaboom! Shows

Kaboom! is a dynamic theatrical performance which introduces students to an eclectic array of experiments and demonstrations about physical science. This high-energy demonstration is guaranteed to generate enthusiasm and leave your students wanting more science.



Digital Planet

Take space learning out of the textbook and into the classroom with Digital Planet, our 3D digital video globe. Through a presenter lead planet tour, this classroom educational tool is the perfect way to supplement any astronomy lesson.
